Google has let everyone know that site speed matter in rankings. Now, with an emphasis on the visitors experience, site speed will continue to be an important ranking factor. Nobody likes to wait, and we are becoming use to faster load times, which means your site will be exited if a user has to wait. Here are a few important things you can do to speed up your site:
1) Test site speed using Google or other tools.
2) Make sure your web server can handle your website needs.
3) You may also find one of the following is slowing you down:
Embedded videos or media
Too many images
Uncompressed images
Bad coding
Too many plugins

Most people don't realize how important site speed really is. Most visitors will exit your site if it doesn't load up in five seconds or less. When Google checks your site it should take no longer than two to three seconds to load for a good ranking score. This is why it is also important to pick a good host.
