When people are shopping online they start with a general search and then narrow it down to a more specific search. What you want to do as a marketer is target search phrases that people use when they're ready to buy. For example, you have a site about laptops. Instead of targeting general phrases like laptops or what is a laptop, target phrases you know people are using when they're ready to purchase like, best laptops 2015 or laptops under $300. Get this type of traffic and you will have high conversions.

This is something that a lot of affiliates overlook. When you put the product images into a post, make sure the photos link through to the product on Amazon with your affiliate link. People will be reading your post and most of the time they will click on the image. Why just have it pull up the image on your site when you can go right to the product page on Amazon. Even if they don't buy that exact product they might buy something else.

Always include Amazon links in your content itself. These links will probably get clicked the most and are way better than a banner at converting. For example, if the post is about televisions, I would put: If you want to see what I think the best television under $500 for 2015 is click here. Have that link go to the product on Amazon and see how easy it is to convert the sale.

One thing many new marketers overlook is putting an Amazon store on your own site. Craft the store to match your website and watch the sales come in. You would be surprised at how many people will browse your store and buy something. When you log in to your Amazon account next time, check it out, it's easy to set up.

A great way to outrank other sites on Google and convert sales is to put together a comparison chart. Let's say you have a photography site. You could do a comparison chart for the best dslr's under $1000. Have a chart with at least four cameras, all of course will be sold on Amazon and you will have your affiliate links in place. No matter which one they buy you win.

An easy way to convert shoppers into buyers is to recommend products to them. If you have a big following on your blog or on social media, why not use your power to suggest a product you like to your audience. Now you really want to focus on things you actually use and really like. You don't want to recommend something you don't know about and then have people complain about it.

Learn how to drive traffic to your site. You can search for methods on Google or look through this forum for great ways to get more traffic to your website or blog. With any affiliate program, it's always a numbers game. The more people that see your offer, the better chance you have of converting, and the more volume you have, the more money you make.

One mistake a new affiliate tends to make is putting products on your site that aren't relevant to your visitors or followers. If you put products on your site that your audience can use and enjoy, then the better chance you have of converting. If you talk about cats and dogs on your site, don't try to sell them a big screen TV.

Most Amazon products have some kind of discount attached to them pretty much all the time. But at certain times during the year Amazon runs other promotions and special discounts that are well worth promoting. During these special sales is when Amazon shoppers buy the most, so pay attention when they are running them.

Don't just go for the big ticket items, promote related products. If you are running a blog that gives out computer tips or maybe camera tips, most of the time people already have a computer or camera. This is when you promote related products as well, like hard drives, keyboards, camera filters, memory cards, books on the subject, etc. People always need other things to go along with their purchase that they may not already have.
